After 15 years of writing, producing and performing, Matan Berkowitz started looking for new ways to approach music.
His award winning inventions translate physical signals (brainwaves, heartbeats and movements) into sound, and turn everyday objects (gloves, hats and glasses) into instruments. In 2015 he co-produced DisCoTech, a first-of-its-kind event dedicated to the creation of music technology for people with special needs, building prototypes that help amputated, blind, paralyzed and autistic musicians express themselves.
Performing both as a public speaker and musician, Ma Tan's shows could feature anything from tribal instruments to biofeedback. He produced 'Pluck' on the last night of MTF Scandinavia, while working on a gesture-based musical instrument at the festival's hackathon.
